Meteora—hands down one of the most unreal places I’ve ever been. Picture this: massive rock towers that look like they were dropped straight out of the sky, and on top of them? Monasteries. Like, actual ancient monasteries perched so high up you wonder how anyone thought, “Yeah, let’s build up there!” Every day we tackled another monastery, which meant endless stairs that seemed to wind forever. And let me tell you, the combination of heat and my out-of-shape self was not a cute look. But somehow, dragging myself up those steps was totally worth it when I saw the view. Standing at the top, looking out over the valley, I felt like I was in a movie. You can’t help but just stop, breathe, and think, “Wow, this is life.”
And the footpaths? Gorgeous. Wandering through the rocks, I half expected Zeus to pop out and say, “Welcome to my backyard!” The whole place feels so mythical, and honestly, I’m not convinced it’s not magic. Meteora isn’t just a road trip stop; it’s a full-on experience. Go for the views, stay for the what the heck, this is real?! vibes. Oh, and wear good shoes—you’ll thank me later! |
