Tzoumerka is a lesser known destination even for locals. This might just be the Greeks' best kept secret! Stone mansions, cobblestone streets, scenic vistas and quaint squares with Greeks drinking their fave coffee! Every corner of this place is instagrammable. This place is also a paradise for outdoor activities : trekking, hiking, canyoning, rafting and even just by looking what is around you.  The Lake below is called "Limni Kremaston" and it was in our way to Tzoumerka  This is one of George's most favorite islands and that is why he was really determined we went this year. We were supposed to stay about a month here but we have another trip already set (read here about 3000km cycling trip in Europe Starts in Septemper), so for now, we could only stay for 15 days.  Having fun in the way back to the base camp to change canyons We flew early to the neighboring island followed by a 3 hour boat ride, immediately after, we took a car ride until the path to the Springs of Fonias, hiked for a little over an hour and after 12 hours of travelling, finally arrived in our first camping spot! |
