Since we're already in northern Greece at the end of August, (click to read our adventure in Tzoumerka ), and just about 3 hours to cross to Albania, we decided to visit Ksamil and Sarande!  Sarande and Ksamil were very beautiful! There are tourists from all over Europe! I think this is a good summer destination option. Unfortunately, the only airport in Albania is in Tirana. Crossing the border with the car was simply the best way for us. The road infrastructure is not the best but the beautiful beaches and the clear water pays off the long drive. Sarande is ideal for vacation not only because of it's scenery, the prices in their local currency LEK, are 25-30% lower compared to average European countries. Just 5 years ago, their currency was even lower (40-50%) but because the tourist industry started growing, it supported their economy even more. Wherever you see a shore, it automatically means there is at least 2 beach bars! Tip: Most of the locals in these areas can speak Greek, so for us it was a bit easier to communicate with them, but they speak English just as fine :)  We spent some of our nights here. You can see at the back of the beach bar is camping ground :) The coast of South Albania has so much beauty to offer, it's important to understand the the infrastructures are struggling to support the thousands of tourists daily and this makes some problems like huge traffic, overcrowded beach, littering, etc. appear. Live Your Myth opinion on the ideal time to visit is either in the very beginning or at the very end of summer.  Mumbas Beach Club We visited Mumbas Beach Club in Himare and it's amazing! On the way here from the highway, there are lots of people trying to sell their own beach bars ( as you can see there are 5 beach bars here but only the one in the middle is Mumbas beach club). Every 10-15 meters someone is going to tell you that they have a promotion and they will give you a coupon that you only pay a certain amount for a sun lounger (you don't need that in Mumbas). Mumbas beach club is at the end of the drive, and the owner, Thanasis, is a very kind man, we even exchanged jokes and shared some stories with him!
